Our Story
Heroes in Mind Foundation was founded by Russ Toll and Bret Petkus, a pair of West Point graduates and former military officers, with the explicit goal of providing access to state-of-the-art mental health care – specifically Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), neuroimaging, and advanced applications of neuroscience – to Gold Star families, veterans, and first responders. The funds we raise ensure our nation’s heroes, and their families, receive the treatment they need to move a step closer to a healthy and productive life.

Heroes in Mind Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) public charity organized in the state of Texas as a non-profit charity.
Our Objectives

Communicate the FDA-approved treatment option that is personalized Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for those heroes suffering from drug-resistant depression, anxiety, peri/post-partum, OCD, and PTSD.

Raise funds to provide treatment at no cost for qualified applicants through our relationship with Compassion Neurohealth, a state-of-the-art medical clinic specializing in these treatment modalities.

Act as a vehicle for those who are inclined to support military and first responder families who are in need of treatment and support.

Our Mission
The mission of Heroes in Mind Foundation is to ensure our nation's Heroes – Gold Star families, veterans, and first responders – have access to state-of-the-art treatment for depression, PTSD, and other related conditions at no cost. We bridge the gap between those who have sacrificed for our communities and the innovative mental health care they deserve.
